About Anita H

With over two decades of professional experience, I specialise in UI/UX design, brand strategy, and mentoring emerging designers. My career journey includes roles in both commercial enterprises and educational institutions, enriching my skills and broadening my perspective.

Prior to establishing my independent practice, I worked for the BBC as part of their UX&D team. I worked across flagship portfolio brands like BBC Three, BBC Voice & AI and Gel, BBC’s Design System. Notable achievements include leading digital UI overhaul for BBC Three, crafting System personas for Voice & AI, leading an extensive research and personas development for BBC Three and designing an Interactive Radio proposal in partnership with Sony & BBC Sounds. Additionally, I spearheaded brand initiatives for the Internal Voice Team, creating a comprehensive brand system for BBC Voice+AI, and collaborated with Moving Brands on the Beeb brand strategy (BBC’s Voice companion). 

In 2022, I launched Studio:ah, a consultancy centred on user-focused design. Embracing a remote-first approach, Studio:ah partners with a global network of skilled designers to deliver bespoke solutions tailored to our clients' requirements

My contributions to academia are equally significant. Currently, I mentor and instruct at Career Foundry, while previously holding positions at the Interaction Design Foundation (IXDF), TU Dublin, and serving as an external advisor for institutions like IADT, CIT, and LYIT. I thrive in environments that merge the challenges of corporate sectors with the innovative spirit of academic environments. My passion lies in nurturing the next wave of designers, empowering them with the skills to excel in both practical and theoretical realms of design.
